Dear Reader Fellow AI Leadership Explorer,Today, we're replacing our customary Sunday morning croissants with a unique flavour. As the perfect Belgian summer Sunday morning unfurls - a comfortable 15°, persistent drizzles creating rhythmic pitter-patter, the sun playing hide and seek behind generously clouded skies - we're serving you a newsletter that pairs brilliantly with your warm cinnamon rolls. "Cinnamon rolls, which cinnamon rolls?" you ask. Allow me to whisk you off into the wonderful world of my lovely wife's "Daily Dose of Bliss". Today, she has transformed our home into an aromatic haven with the tantalizing aroma of her special cinnamon pastry, a heavenly treat that promises to enrich your day!. A Weekly AI Roundup FirstThis week's updates are brought to you by my trusted source, Matt Wolf's weekly video. This week, he navigates the terrain from OverflowAI by Stack Overflow to GPT-5's trademarking, AI tags on Instagram, new AI norms on Kickstarter, updates from Meta AI and AudioGen, Alibaba open-sourcing their Chinese LLM, Leonardo AI (similar to my favoured Midjourney - for image generation), NVidea, and a highly inspiring CEO. Highlights for Our Leadership ExpeditionGoogle AI Searchunveils three new enhancements:
NVidea:"Nvidia AI Image Personalization Method Fits on a Floppy Disk and Takes 4 Minutes to Train," illustrating how rapidly model size and speed are reducing while computational power soars. This suggests that LLMs will soon be available on every serious private machine, reinforcing the importance of education as the market becomes less dominated by major players and more ethical accountability is required. As pioneers of AI Leadership, our mission gains more gravity every day. InVideo:Continuing the tradition, I'll maintain my discussion about today's AI possibilities. If you've missed the saga of the ping-pong-playing robot, do catch up; it compellingly underlines the necessity for extensive education in the face of AI disruptions. ChatGPT Updates and GPT-5:OpenAI has introduced fresh updates to ChatGPT and has trademarked GPT-5. These enhancements could unlock new prospects for AI implementations and exchanges. Interesting is how you can see that all models try to keep up with their competitors. Uploading multiple files has been a great advantage for Claude 2; now ChatGPT offers that same possibility. AI-Synthesized Summaries on YouTube:YouTube now offers AI-synthesized summaries, showcasing the transformative capabilities of AI. It makes me curious about the undiscovered potential of my WIIFL technique. AI Influencers:The video discusses virtual AI influencers with an 8-figure valuation. It underscores the expanding impact of AI across sectors. How can organizations weave this knowledge into their strategies? Moreover, how can we stay savvy enough to discern when these influencers influence our buying decisions? It always reminds me of "The pied piper of Hamelin." But that's a tale for another day. The AI Leadership Venture:Public Speaking EditionOn another note, I'm glad to unfold more about my public speaking project. You might recall I've been harnessing Claude 2, an AI tool, to morph my years of public speaking insights and ideas from a disorganized mind map into a meticulously curated "Personal Presentation Course". Interestingly, as I was shaping not one but three forthcoming presentations centred around AI Leadership, we stumbled into a conversation about the course. The presentations cater to diverse audiences: 1) A talk for the Enterprise Architecture course at Innocom. 2) A discussion about Generative AI use for my highly skilled colleagues at Digital Flanders' Project Solutions. 3) A talk for youth mentors, as part of an initiative to develop an app for young kids and young adults to guide their growth and transition to adulthood, an inspiring endeavour by Opgroeien, the Flemish Agency for Youth Care. Each presentation poses unique hurdles, but I am genuinely invigorated and honoured to be on this AI Leadership adventure. In planning these presentations with Claude this morning, we had a stimulating exchange about the 'Public Speaking' course. The proof of the puddingSo, of course, having written an entire course on public and giving presentations, I was eager to 'taste my own campaign'. Checking this with Claude, the kind AI he is, he provided some interesting bonus tips for my talk. Some of which needed to be more encompassed in the course on which we had been working for weeks now. The most awkward was that most were interestingly enough in my initial mindmap but were not kept by Claude while translating it. This initiated an insightful conversation about the course quality and the essence of a well-assembled AI-TEAM, being supportive when needed but critical when necessary. But it remains important to always verify the accuracy of model-generated answers by cross-referencing them with your own knowledge of the topics you are working on. How to ‘manage’ the gentle nature of Generative AI modelsThis encounter reiterated the gentle nature of most Generative AI tools. They're designed to encourage rather than criticize. Therefore, when collaborating with AI, it's paramount to employ techniques like "provide pros and cons" or form an AI TEAM that challenges your ideas and critiques your beliefs to help you think outside the box. When I ask pros and cons, I usually add "and describe how I can turn the cons into my strongest qualities". Often in life, the biggest hurdles can become great trampolines to get higher than you ever dreamed. How to turn a roadblock into a trampolineMy son, Niko, recently shared a story with me that initially felt like a stumbling block, the kind that takes a moment to bounce back from. One of his friends had stumbled upon my AI-TEAM blog, thanks to Niko's endorsement. Now, I'm an old-school kind of guy. I still believe in the power of words in crafting text to explain concepts. But this friend, he's more of a 'prompt and run' type, never bothering to read the explanations. So, he thought AI-TEAM was a brilliant concept... but without my detailed descriptions, he was missing out on so much. This made me wonder, is all the effort I put into researching, writing, editing, refining, and publishing my work all in vain? After a night of reflection, I woke up this morning to the comforting glow of an idea. It's a story I can't wait to share with you in one of my upcoming newsletters. And I promise you'll be the first to know. Your Insights MatterAs we advance on this journey, I yearn to hear your thoughts. What are your experiences with AI? How do you ensure safe AI usage? What topics intrigue you? Your feedback shapes our content and aligns it with your requirements. So, feel free to share your thoughts. Thank you for being an integral part of our community. Your thirst for knowledge and readiness to learn make this journey meaningful. Here's to another week of unearthing, learning, and growing together in the captivating world of AI! Yours in AI, Luc “
Transparency Note:
In the interest of transparency, here is a brief account of my letter-crafting process:
I conduct research with ChatGPT, Claude, and Bing using my renowned WIIFL command 😉.
I request ChatGPT to draft a preliminary version based on this information.
From the suggestions, I select & add personal experiences or comments as seems fit to me.
I intersperse my unique parts and stories - like the Public Speaking course.
I then polish this with ChatGPT or Claude to create the final draft.
A few minor tweaks later, voila, your newsletter!
All the images are generated with Midjourney, inspired by any passing thought closely or remotely connected to our theme.
I write about what I believe is essential, interesting, or inspiring for our AI Leadership journey and none of the links I provide or topics I mention benefit me regarding revenue or affiliate marketing.
